One of my specialties is Financial Coaching, which focuses on the ways our thoughts and feelings about money contribute to emotional stress and problematic behaviors. It involves helping clients develop new, healthier patterns around managing their finances. My work in this area includes assisting individuals and couples in:
- Overcoming problematic spending patterns (e.g., chronic under spending, overspending, compulsive buying)
- Managing stress/anxiety around financial challenges
- Communicating in healthier ways about finances in their relationships
- Creating more realistic budgets and financial goals
- Uncovering where beliefs about money were learned and how they might begin to think differently
- Developing a more positive relationship with money
- Being more “thoughtful” about spending decisions
